Type 2 1 Phase 32A 7.4kW CEE Charger For 220-240V 32A CEE Socket
235.00 € – 270.00 € vat included
Type 2 to 32A 220-240V 1 Phase CEE socket charger that will allow you to charge an EV using the 220V-240V 32A CEE (also known as industrial or CEE) socket. The charger will provide up to 7.4kW. If does not matter if your Type 2 socket vehicle accepts more than 7.4kW, you can still use this industrial socket EV charger as long as the 3 pin CEE socket is 1 Phase 32A, which is usually blue.
Please ensure that you have the correct CEE socket before purchasing this charger. We also have chargers available for the 1 Phase 16A and 3 Phase 16A and 32A sockets. A canvas cable bag is supplied with your charger and there is the option to upgrade to a case that will store more than one charging cable. Please read the user booklet included with your cable before using it. Read below for important information about this Mode 2 CEE charger.
Please Read Before You Buy
Our Type 2 to CEE chargers are normally returned due to one of the reasons below. Reading this information will help you to avoid the common reasons why a Mode 2 CEE charger is sent back to us. Please also read all the information on this page as it contains important information about this charger.
Will the CEE plug fit your CEE / Commando socket? You will need to check the ampere rating of the socket and whether it is 1 Phase or 3 Phase in order to ensure that you are buying the correct charger. A 3 Phase socket will have 5 holes and usually have a red cover. A 1 Phase socket will have 3 holes and a blue cover. The Ampere rating is usually on the cover of the socket and will state 16 or 32.
Is the cable long enough? Measure the length from your CEE socket to the Type 2 socket, where your vehicle will usually be parked. Add half a metre to avoid over stretching the cable.
Is this CEE charger compatible with my vehicle? If you know that your vehicle has a Type 2 socket, then this Type 2 to CEE charger is compatible with your vehicle. The vehicle will also adjust the current it receives to ensure that the vehicle will not receive more current than it’s battery will allow. If you are not sure if your vehicle has a Type 2 socket, please view the photos of a Type 2 socket on this page and match them with the vehicle. You can also use our EV Cable Finder to find all the compatible Mode 2 chargers for your vehicle.
Is this a rapid charging cable? This is not a CCS cable. If you want a cable to use with a DC rapid charger, you do not need to buy one as the cable is always attached to the unit.
Cable Care & Safety
To ensure the proper care of your charger, be sure to follow the safety instructions outlined in the user booklet provided with your charger. These chargers have a 12 months manufacturer warranty. However, following the instructions and safety information for using the Type 2 to CEE charger will help to ensure years of trouble-free use and you can also register for a 36 months extended warranty. In case you do not receive the user booklet, please notify us. Use A 220-240V 32A Commando Socket To Charge A Type 2 Socket EV Up To 7.4kW
The Type 2 to 230V Blue Plug 32A CEE charger, also known as the blue, industrial or Commando socket, is capable of delivering a current of up to 7.4W.
It does not matter if your BEV / PHEV can handle more or less than 7.4kW, because the vehicle will dictate the maximum current it can draw from this Mode 2 CEE charger.
The charger’s current can be adjusted to provide 10A, 16A, 26A, or 32A, and your chosen setting will be saved for the next time you charge your vehicle. Ensure that your Commando socket is 3-pin 16A and not the 3-pin 32A socket or the 3 Phase 5-pin socket. Are you looking for a Type 2 to 16A or 32A 3 Phase CEE charger, or a 16A 1 Phase CEE charger? Then please view our selection of Type 2 to CEE socket chargers.
Is This 32A Single Phase CEE Charger Suitable For My BEV / PHEV?
Choosing The Right CEE Charger
The 32A CEE plug can be used with a 1 Phase 32A CEE socket. You can identify the socket by its blue cover and the presence of three holes, along with the marking “32A” or “32”. For electric vehicle charging, it’s important to ensure the power socket is suitable. It is therefore recommended to have a qualified electrician certify that both the socket and the power supply meet the necessary requirements for this purpose.
The vehicle must also have a Type 2 socket to use this charger. The majority of electric vehicles sold in Europe have a Type 2 socket. The vehicle will either have a 7 hole socket for AC charging, or a 9 hole CCS socket. CCS stands for Combined Charging Socket because it combines the sockets required for AC and DC charging. The Type 2 cable is designed to fit into the 7-hole upper chamber of the CCS socket. So if your vehicle socket has 7 holes or 9 holes, it is Type 2.
If you are still not sure, click the button below to locate your vehicle and this will confirm if your vehicle is Type 2. Please also check the information at the top of this page, “Please Read Before You Buy”, to help avoid the most common reasons for returning a charging cable.
Do You Want A Charger With Multiple Adapters?
If you’re in search of a versatile Mode 2 charger compatible with various power sockets, then consider our multi-adapter charger. The charger supports charging from both 1 Phase and 3 Phase sockets, and provides a current range of 6A to 32A.
The multi charger allows connection to a variety of outlets. For instance, the 3 pin and 5 pin Commando sockets, the 16A Schuko socket, and the 3 pin 13A Type G (UK, Ireland, Malta, Cyprus) socket. You have the flexibility to choose the specific adapters you need for your charger. Furthermore, it incorporates a charging timer, enabling charging to start anywhere from 1 to 10 hours after being plugged in. When using the 3 pin Type G plug adapter, the charger will automatically select a safe 10A charging mode.
For a detailed breakdown of the maximum currents provided by the multi-adapter charger when used with different adapter/power outlets, refer to the table below:
Adapter & Outlet | Max kW |
---|---|
3 Phase CEE 32A | 22kW |
3 Phase CEE 16A | 11kW |
1 Phase CEE 32A | 7,4kW |
1 Phase CEE 16A | 3,7kW |
Type G 13A | 2,2kW |
Schuko 16A | 3,7kW |
The maximum current displayed in the above table will not necessarily align with the current that the vehicle can accept. In other words, the vehicle can only accept up to the maximum current of its onboard charger.
EV Cable Bag And Case
We provide a free canvas cable bag (suitable for cables up to 15M) to store this charger when not in use. You can also upgrade the bag to a cable case made from EVA material for enhanced waterproofing and impact protection. The EVA case has an elasticated strap in the bottom compartment and elasticated mesh pocket in the top. So it allows convenient storage of two cables. The EVA case can therefore carry 2 cables if each cable does not exceed 10 metres length (20M total length).
