215.00 € – 345.00 € vat included
This Type 2 to Schuko charging cable will charge at the up to 16A as well as the safe limit of 10A and 8A, making it suitable for regular charging when using a Schuko socket. The lower currents also make this charger compatible with PV (solar panel) charging.
Integrated features of this Schuko charger include earth leakage protection, voltage and current protection, temperature control, delayed charging, weather resistance, and AC 30mA + DC 6mA Type B RCD protection for safe charging at home or other locations where a 16A Schuko socket (Type F socket) is available.
A cable bag is supplied for lengths up to 15 metres. Please read the user booklet included with your cable before using it. Read below for important information about this Mode 2 mobile charging cable.
Please Read Before You Buy
Our Schuko charging cables are normally returned for one of the reasons below. Reading this information may help you to avoid having to return the charger. Please also read all the information on this page as it contains important information about this Schuko charger.
Ensure compatibility between the charging cable and your vehicle. The images on this page provide a visual guide to the connector pins, allowing you to match the cable plug to your vehicle socket. You can also use our EV Cable Finder to locate your vehicle and explore the charging cables available for your vehicle.
Is the cable long enough? Measure the distance from your Schuko socket to your Type 2 vehicle socket, typically where your vehicle is parked, and add half a meter to prevent overstretching the cable.
Cable Care & Warranty

Use A 16A Scuko Socket To Charge A Type 2 Socket Vehicle With Our Schuko To Type 2 Charger
The Type 2 to Schuko charger, also referred to as a Notladekabel, mobile charger, mobile charging cable, home charger, or brick charger, offers adjustable current settings, allowing regualr EV charging up to the recognised safe limit of 10A. When using a Schuko socket with a Type 2 mobile charger, an electrician should certify that the socket is suitable for charging an electric vehicle.
Using the lower current settings that this charger offers, enables compatibility with sockets requiring less than 10A. This feature therefore allows connection to solar panels/PV systems. Additionally, it is suitable for vehicles that need to reduce the current intake.
The Schuko charger is designed for plugging into a 16A Type F, Schuko socket. The 16A setting represents the maximum current an EV should draw from the socket, but this setting should only be used if an electrician certifies that the socket and electrical circuit is capable of withstanding 16A continuous loads.
The lower current settings that are available for this mobile charger will minimise the heat impact on the Schuko socket. This is important when charging your electric vehicle on holiday or in any location where the socket has not been certified for charging an electric vehicle.
Is This Type 2 To Schuko Mobile Charger Suitable For My EV / PHEV?
Choosing The Right Charger
Charging an electric vehicle with a Schuko socket may cause thermal damage if the socket overheats due to damaged or faulty wiring or if the electrical circuit is overloaded. For this reason, an electrician should provide certification for the intended socket to verify that is suitable for EV charging.
We understand that, at times, charging your EV with a socket certified by an electrician may not be feasible. In such instances, we recommend using the lowest ampere setting. It is also a good idea to check that both the plug and socket are not becoming excessively hot during charging.
Avoid using an extension lead or adapter with this 3 pin charger. Plug the charger directly into the socket. Ensure that water does not come into contact with the prongs of the 3-pin plug or enters inside the Type 2 plug. Keep the charger dry when not in use. Before usage, be sure to read the user booklet included with the charger.
To use this 3-pin charger, your EV must have a Type 2 socket. Refer to the photo of a Type 2 socket on this page and match it to your EV.
If you are still not sure, click the button below to find your EV/PHEV. This will enable you to verify if your vehicle is equipped with a Type 2 socket. Additionally, please review the information at the top of this page under “Please Read Before You Buy”. This information will help you to avoid the most common reasons for returning a 3-pin charging cable.
How Waterproof Is This Charger?
This charger consists of four main components: the Schuko plug, the cable, the control box (unit), and the Type 2 plug.
Schuko Plug: The plug should be safe from water if you are plugging it into an indoor socket. If you are using an outdoor socket, the Schuko plug needs to be protected and you should therefore use a weatherproof socket.
Cable: The cable is waterproof as long as there are no cuts or tears in the cable sheath.
Control Box: The standard control box is IP65-rated. This rating means that the control box can withstand light rain. If you are placing the control box outside, you can select the option to upgrade to the IP67-rated control box. This rating means that the control box is fully weatherproof.
Type 2 Plug: The Type 2 plug is built with an outer shell that is designed to withstand rain and snow when connected to the vehicle socket. The vehicle socket is also designed to be watertight and should therefore provide protection from water ingress when the Type 2 plug is connected. A common way for water to enter the Type 2 plug is when the plug cap is replaced after charging. The plug cap must always be replaced after charging your vehicle, but do ensure that the inside of the plug cap is dry. Avoid leaving the plug lying around outside, do not drag or drop the Type 2 plug on the ground and store the charger in a dry place when not in use.
