Type 2 to 3 pin Charging Cable 10A For EV Charging With A 13A Socket
170.00 € – 190.00 € vat included
Type 2 to Schuko charger (Notladekabel) that will charge your e-auto at 16A. This charger will provide up to 3,7kW when using a 16A Schuko socket and is suitable for emergency charging your electric vehicle at home or anywhere there is a Type F (Schuko) socket. This charger has a Type A RCD. For using a 16A socket to regularly charge an EV, or if the Schuko socket is not protected by a Type B RCD, we recommend our adjustable current Schuko charger, which has an integrated sensor that provides DC current detection equivalent to a Type B RCD and an optional temperature sensor in the plug. This charger is also available with lengths of 7.5 metres, 10 metres and 15 metres.
Please note that the unit box of this 16A fixed amp charger is IP65. This means that the unit box should be sheltered during heavy rain or snow. If you are placing the control box outdoors, we recommend the IP67 waterproof option that is available for the adjustable current Schuko charger.
Please consult with an electrician to ensure that the socket and electrical circuit used for charging your vehicle is suitable for charging a BEV / PHEV. Read below for important details about this Schuko charging cable.
Please Read Before You Buy
Our Schuko charging cables are normally returned for one of the reasons below. Reading this information may help you to avoid having to return the charger. Please also read all the information on this page as it contains important information about this Schuko charger.
Ensure compatibility between the charging cable and your vehicle. The images on this page provide a visual guide to the connector pins, allowing you to match the cable plug to your vehicle socket. You can also use our EV Cable Finder to locate your vehicle and explore the charging cables available for your vehicle.
Is the cable long enough? Measure the distance from your Schuko socket to your Type 2 vehicle socket, typically where your vehicle is parked, and add half a meter to prevent overstretching the cable.
Cable Care & Warranty
To ensure the proper care of your charger, be sure to follow the safety instructions outlined in the user booklet provided with your charging cable. These Schuko chargers have a 24 months repair warranty for any defects that are caused by a manufacturing fault. Following the instructions and safety information for using the Type 2 to Schuko charger will help to ensure trouble-free use. In case you do not receive the user booklet, please notify us. Additionally, check our EV Cable Care Guide for valuable tips on safely using your mobile charger and how to avoid common issues that may lead to the charger malfunctioning.

Type 2 To Schuko Charging Cable For Plugging Into A 16A Household Socket. Charges All Type 2 Socket Electric Vehicles
This Type 2 to Schuko charging cable can charge an EV at 16A, which equates to around 3,7kW or 15 to 25 kM of charge per hour.
Plug this Mode 2 charger into a 16A Type F Schuko socket to charge your EV at 16A. This mobile charger is recommended for emergency charging. For example, if you are visiting an area without any charging facilities nearby.
If you are using a 16A Schuko socket to charge your EV regularly and for longer periods, we recommend our adjustable current mobile charger as this will allow you to charge the vehicle at the lower recommended current of 10A. Charging your electric vehicle at 10A significantly reduces the risk of the socket overheating.
Being able to reduce the charging current reduces the heat stress on a mains socket. This is important if a 16A socket lacks a dedicated circuit connection. Or where the circuit and socket haven’t been certified for charging an electric vehicle by a qualified electrician. Variable charging will also allow the charger and/or the vehicle to reduce the current if overheating is detected.
The variable current charger includes AC and DC current protection and has a timer that allows delayed charging from 1 to 10 hours. There is also an option for a waterproof enclosure and a temperature sensor inside the Schuko plug to help prevent the Schuko socket overheating.
Is This Mobile Charger Suitable For My EV / PHEV?
Choosing The Right Mobile Charger
To use this Schuko charger, your vehicle must have a Type 2 socket. Refer to the photo of a Type 2 socket on this page and match it to your vehicle.
If you are still not sure, click the button below to find your BEV/PHEV. This will enable you to verify if your vehicle is equipped with a Type 2 socket. Additionally, please review the information at the top of this page under “Please Read Before You Buy”. This information will help you to avoid the most common reasons for returning a Schuko charging cable.
Use A Suitable Socket
Charging an electric vehicle for long periods with a Schuko socket may cause thermal damage to the socket. For example, the socket might overheat if the socket is damaged, if there is faulty wiring, or if the electrical circuit is overloaded. It is rare, but it does happen.
For this reason, we strongly recommend that an electrician inspects the Schuko socket to certify its suitability for charging your vehicle.
We understand that, at times, charging your EV with a socket certified by an electrician may not be feasible. In such instances, we recommend the variable amp charger as it provides additional protection for the 3-pin socket. It is also a good idea to ensure that both the plug and socket are not becoming excessively hot during charging.
Do not use an extension lead or adapter with this Type 2 to 3 pin charger. Plug the charger directly into the socket. Ensure that water does not come into contact with the 3-pin plug or the Type 2 plug, and keep the charger dry when not in use. Before using this charger, be sure to read the user booklet included with the charger.
How Waterproof Is This Mobile Charging Cable?
This charger consists of four main components: the Schuko plug, the cable, the control box (unit), and the Type 2 plug.
Schuko Plug: The plug should be safe from water if you are plugging it into an indoor socket. If you are using an outdoor socket, the Schuko plug needs to be protected and you should therefore use a weatherproof socket.
Cable: The cable is waterproof as long as there are no cuts or tears in the cable sheath.
Control Box: The standard control box is IP65-rated. This rating means that the control box can withstand light rain. If you are placing the control box outside, you can select the option to upgrade to the IP67-rated control box. This rating means that the control box is fully weatherproof.
Type 2 Plug: The Type 2 plug is built with an outer shell that is designed to withstand rain and snow when connected to the vehicle socket. The vehicle socket is also designed to be watertight and should therefore provide protection from water ingress when the Type 2 plug is connected.
A common way for water to enter the Type 2 plug is when the plug cap is replaced after charging. The plug cap must always be replaced after charging your vehicle, but do ensure that the inside of the plug cap is dry. Avoid leaving the plug lying around outside, do not drag or drop the Type 2 plug on the ground and store the charger in a dry place when not in use.
Features
- IP65 protection for the control box.
- Certification: CE.
- 30mA AC Type A RCD.
- Built in fault detection: Earth leakage, over voltage / under voltage, over current and surge protection.
- PCB Overheating protection: The charging current will automatically reduce if the circuit board in the device box exceeds 75 degrees.
Choice Of Cable Bags
We provide a free canvas cable bag (suitable for cables up to 15M) to store this charger when not in use. You can also upgrade the bag to a cable case made from EVA material for enhanced waterproofing and impact protection. The EVA case has an elasticated strap in the bottom compartment and elasticated mesh pocket in the top. So it allows convenient storage of two cables. The EVA case can therefore carry 2 cables if each cable does not exceed 10 metres length (20M total length).
