Please Read Before You Buy
Our Type 2 to CEE chargers are normally returned due to one of the reasons below. Reading this information will help you to avoid the common reasons why a Mode 2 CEE charger is sent back to us. Please also read all the information on this page as it contains important information about this charger.
Will the CEE plug fit your CEE / Commando socket? You will need to check the ampere rating of the socket and whether it is 1 Phase or 3 Phase in order to ensure that you are buying the correct charger. A 3 Phase socket will have 5 holes and usually have a red cover. A 1 Phase socket will have 3 holes and a blue cover. The Ampere rating is usually on the cover of the socket and will state 16 or 32.
Is the cable long enough? Measure the length from your CEE socket to the Type 2 socket, where your vehicle will usually be parked. Add half a metre to avoid over stretching the cable.
Is this CEE charger compatible with my vehicle? If you know that your vehicle has a Type 2 socket, then this Type 2 to CEE charger is compatible with your vehicle. The vehicle will also adjust the current it receives to ensure that the vehicle will not receive more current than it’s battery will allow. If you are not sure if your vehicle has a Type 2 socket, please view the photos of a Type 2 socket on this page and match them with the vehicle. You can also use our EV Cable Finder to find all the compatible Mode 2 chargers for your vehicle.
Is this a rapid charging cable? This is not a CCS cable. If you want a cable to use with a DC rapid charger, you do not need to buy one as the cable is always attached to the unit.

Is This 16A 3 Phase CEE EV Charger Suitable For The Honda e:NY1?
Choosing The Right Charger
The 16A CEE plug will be compatible with your industrial CEE socket if it is 3 Phase 16A, so please check that your CEE socket has 5 pins and states “16A” or “16” on the socket. If your socket is 3 Phase 32A, you will need the 32A CEE charger.
When charging an electric vehicle, it is important to ensure the power socket is suitable. Therefore, we recommend a qualified electrician to certify that both the socket and supply are suitable for the semands of charging an electric vehicle.
The Honda e:NY1 has a Type 2 socket as standard, ensuring compatibility with this charger. Please note that the manufacturer of this vehicle did not manufacture this charging cable.
Please also check the information at the top of this page, “Please Read Before You Buy”, to help avoid the most common reasons for returning a charging cable.
Do You Want A Charger With Multiple Adapters?
If you’re in search of an EV charger that is compatible with various power sockets, then consider our multi-adapter charger. The charger supports charging from both 1 Phase and 3 Phase sockets, and provides a current range of 6A to 32A.
The multi charger allows connection to a variety of outlets. For instance, the 3 pin and 5 pin Commando sockets, the 16A Schuko socket, and the 3 pin 13A Type G (UK, Ireland, Malta, Cyprus) socket. You have the flexibility to choose the specific adapters you need for your charger. Furthermore, it incorporates a charging timer, enabling charging to start anywhere from 1 to 10 hours after being plugged in. When using the 3 pin Type G plug adapter, the charger will automatically select a safe 10A charging mode.
For a detailed breakdown of the maximum currents provided by the multi-adapter charger when used with different adapter/power outlets, refer to the table below:
Adapter & Outlet | Max kW |
---|---|
3 Phase CEE 32A | 22kW |
3 Phase CEE 16A | 11kW |
1 Phase CEE 32A | 7,4kW |
1 Phase CEE 16A | 3,7kW |
Type G 13A | 2,2kW |
Schuko 16A | 3,7kW |
The maximum current displayed in the above table will not necessarily align with the current that the vehicle can accept. In other words, the vehicle can only accept up to the maximum current of its onboard charger.

EV Cable Bag And Case
We provide a canvas cable bag (suitable for cables up to 10M) to store this charger when not in use. The bag can also be upgraded to a cable carrier case made from EVA material, which has improved waterproof and impact protection. The EVA case has an elasticated strap in the bottom compartment and elasticated mesh pocket in the top to allow convenient storage of two cables. The EVA case can hold two cables, provided each cable is no longer than 10 meters (with a total combined length of 20 meters) and is neatly wound. You can replace the canvas cable bag with an EVA case by selecting the option available in the basket or on the checkout page.
